We look at the overall site conditions, the tree’s structure, any obvious defects in the various tree parts. We look for insect and disease problems. We look at your tree for stability and safety concerns. There are advanced levels of inspection and assessments, which may be recommended based on our observations, and your goals.
We can write a Pruning Specification for YOUR TREE to national standards. These specifications spell out exactly what size limbs are to be pruned, what is not to be pruned, the pruning method. This also allows tree service companies to bid on your project with the same criteria and not sell how they "think" the tree should be pruned.
We can review tree structure and develop a pruning prescription to train the permanent branches to maximize the useful life of the tree, minimizing damage to the tree and control costs as the tree reaches maturity.
We are happy to evaluate your tree and give you a second opinion if you have been told a tree is a hazard or needs pruning.
We can help you save trees when building your dream home or help you evaluate trees on a home you are considering purchasing. Trees contribute greatly to the value of a home site.

Tree Risk Assessment is needed when you have questions about tree safety. Tree risk assessments are a systematic process that involves identifying, analyzing, and evaluating tree risk.
When we have reason to suspect that a tree has decay inside the trunk or roots, or when certain kinds of fungus are growing on a tree, we use a Resistograph. This sophisticated machine is invaluable for determining how much decay actually exists. The results it provides guide us when we advise homeowners about taking their tree down. Though most of the time we don't need to put it to use, we bring this machine to every inspection we perform. Only a handful of companies in Alabama own one of these machines.
